NCFCDSA Chairs Report June 2026

Welcome to all members attending the second Notts County FC DSA AGM. 

Once again I have been blessed with a dedicated Committee who have taken the DSA further than I could have hoped it to be in what is only our second full season. They have all at various points given up their spare time on matchdays to make things happen as they should, whether that be the Sensory Bags, checking of the Accessible Toilets, Fundraising, or generally helping out disabled supporters. 

On fundraising, my committee have worked hard with a particular outside charity this year which has seen one of my main ambitions of providing Stoma Facilities at Notts come to fruition. This charity's donation will no doubt make a significant difference to any Stomites visiting Meadow Lane for not only the football, but other events held within the club's stadia. You can rest assured whilst I’m Chair of the DSA, I will not let up until every Accessible Toilet is fully equipped with these life changing facilities. Also on fundraising, I wish to acknowledge all the monies raised by Maria Mills, our former Minutes Secretary who successfully raised in excess of £1,000 over two marathon runs. 

Financially, as you will see from the Treasurer's report. Whilst not rolling in money, we are in a very healthy position considering that we started with almost nothing. That said, the achievements of the Fundraising Secretary appointed at last year's AGM has certainly paid dividends. 

Inclusivity, I have come to realise that this is a varied and complex issue with many obstacles set before the Committee. 

These obstacles are not something that cannot be surmounted with the help of The Club, The Notts County Foundation and more importantly, our Membership. The DSA’S continued engagement with the club has meant our relationship has grown even stronger over the past 12 months. This relationship via Logan Bruce (Fan Engagement officer), The NCSC which boasts 5 dedicated fan based groups as well as club CEO Joe Palmer is all held together by a brilliant Chair Melvyn Gwynne. Therefore, I can assure our Membership that the DSA is going to be your dedicated and committed purposeful voice going forward at  your beloved club for decades to come.

Moving forward my aim for the next 12 months is to encourage the committee in conjunction with The Club to continue working through the Level Playing Field Access Report conducted in the closed season of 2024.

Involving the membership more. Thus ensuring The DSA remains an advocacy for all disabled supporters both old and new.

NCFCDSA Chairs Report June 2025

Welcome to all members attending the inaugural Notts County FC DSA AGM. What began with just five members in the spring of 2024 being tasked with resurrecting the original DSA that was formed back in 2016, (which sadly lapsed during the covid era), has now expanded to a committee of eleven. I am very proud of the committee’s dedication and growth during this period which reflects their collective enthusiasm and commitment in supporting Notts County FC Disabled Supporters and their Accessible Companions.

During this period The Committee have been working in conjunction with The Club as well as the Notts County Foundation to make a significant impact for our Disabled Supporters and I am pleased to report that our fundraising efforts have provided us with a strong foundation on which to build. However, I recognise that this is only a start and that the DSA has a huge amount of work set before it.

Together moving forward, The Committees aim is to continue to engage with The Club, our members and broader fan base to actively build on the achievements that we have already accomplished. These achievements include issues relating to ticketing, seating, access, stewarding, providing blankets and ponchos as well as sensory bags with the aim of enhancing the overall experience and safety when attending Meadow Lane. The Committee have also effectively raised and resolved issues that have caused concern and stress at away grounds too. This has proved invaluable to those who travel and gives me great confidence that we are on the right path.

The Committee are effectively serving as a bridge between the club and its supporters. So with this in mind, I look forward to working together with them as well as all our members going into the forthcoming season to achieve our shared goals of providing the best support and facilities possible for an all inclusive Meadow Lane.
